Not many insurers offer dog sledding holiday insurance - so to make life easier we have selected two here that do!!
Canada. This adventure is for those with some dog sledding experience or those used to the outdoors in winter and are up for a challenge! Starts with the 8 day Husky Adventure Tour (see above second from top) but after a one night back at the base lodge you then head out to explore the trapper trails staying in an old trappers cabin. Runs every Wed to Sat, 16th Nov to 13th Apr. 11 days. £2050 plus flights.
Canada. Superb adventure through lakes and forest to MacIntyre Mountain and including Bonneville, Ibex and Coal Lake. Exploring old trapper trails. Staying at the ranch, in heated walled tents and an old trappers cabin. A holiday you will be able to recount for years to come. Extra night in Whitehorse at a cost of £90 per person recommended. 15 days, 12 days with your husky team. £2735 excluding flights.
Finland. Superb late season Husky safari to the far northwest of Lapland. Drive your own team of 4 to 6 dogs covering up to 70 km a day. 3 overnights in hotel or cabin, 8 nights in wilderness huts or even tents. Your chance to be an explorer with your own dog team. 12 days, 11 nights, 9 days on the trail with your team of Huskies. Departures: 26th Feb, 11th & 25th Mar, 8th Apr 2012. £2715 plus flights.
Norway. Holiday adventure designed for the adventuous and fit. After a 'warm up' day you then travel out into the mountains for a 5 day expedition, camping on route and moving on each day (assuming conditions allow). You will need to help with the huskies and the camp routines. Group 2 to 8 persons. 26th March to 2nd April 2012. 8 days, 7 nights, 6 days with your dogteam, £2250 plus flights.
