Two challenging but fun trips! One 5 days (4 with your huskies), the other 8 days (7 with your huskies). You're supplied with best equipment and taught all the important aspects of dog sledding and guided on the best trails possible. You should be in relatively good physical shape and have a good team spirit. Based in the Yukon mountains for good snow conditions and true wilderness experience. Available mid-November to mid-April. £975 and £1535 respectively including local taxes but excluding flights to Whitehorse. Accommodation in lodges, cabins and heated tents.
You can select from numerous itineraries in the Yukon ranging from £975 for 5 days through to £2735 for 15 day expeditions. Some shorter trip options may be possible. Travelling from UK you may need to book additional accommodation before and/or after the adventure. Flights to Whitehorse normally via Vancouver or Edmonton. Try some great Canadian hospitality.
On this superb adventure as well as visiting Bonneville Lakes and MacIntyre Mountain, as in the 8 day tour, you also visit Ibex Lake and explore the trapper trails to Coal Lake. A holiday you will be able to recount for years to come. 15 days for £2735 excluding flights.
This trip starts as the 8 day Husky Adventure Tour but after a one night back at the lodge you then head of out to explore the trapper trails to Coal Lake and stay in an old trappers cabin. This 11 day trip runs from Wed to Sat, available Nov to April. £2050 excluding flights.
A 7 day adventure based in comfortable but simple cabins with opportunity to get out with your dog team every day. As you build your confidence and rapport with your dog team you will be ready for the challenge of a overnight expedition to a heated tent wilderness camp. On this trip, after your hectic time on the trail with your dogs, you will have opportunities to take time out to 'chill out', going for a walk, a social evening in the dining room, helping with the dogs, watching 'mushing videos' or resting in your room. This adventure only takes place every 2 years or so. The Yukon Quest runs from 4th to 18th Feb 2012. This trip offers you the chance to run your own dogs for 7 days (itinerary similar to the Husky Adventure Tour - 8 days) with nights at the ranch, in cabins and in heated wall tents on the trail. Then at the end there is opportunity to join in with the excitement and fun of the Yukon Quest finish. You'll need to book extra nights before and after the trip (£90 per night) to maximize this holiday. 11th to 18th February 2012. £1665 for 8 days including local taxes but excluding flights.
